Dear Friends and Neighbors,

It has been great being back home and seeing you at various community events this summer.

We are writing to let you know about an important public meeting this week. As you know, the U.S. Census occurs every 10 years to count our population and base planning and budgets around those numbers. In addition, states around the country re-draw lines around legislative (state) and congressional (federal) districts. This is called redistricting. A Washington state bipartisan commission is taking public comments this summer on how the lines should be re-drawn.

We encourage you to attend the meeting in Walla Walla:

Wednesday, July 13
Walla Walla Community College
Conference Center – Room 185 – A,B,C
500 Tausick Way

There will be an open house at 6 p.m. and the meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. This is your chance to be heard on something that may affect who represents you in the future.

As always, we would be happy to meet with you or your group to review this year’s session or to hear your ideas about issues affecting our community and state. We have offices in Pasco and Walla Walla for your convenience. Please feel free to contact our legislative assistants and set up a meeting.

It’s an honor to serve you.

Sincerely,

Terry Nealey
